Apparently emails have not gone through completely - email server is overloaded... so heres the email that went out yesterday afternoon at 4pm: Good Afternoon, TODAY: I apologise for all the mishaps and confusion today. It was one HECTIC day with people randomly cancelling or being late and I am really sorry that we have to deal with this. However, the day is done and we have confirmations for events happening tomorrow. IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG: We found that many people are late for their events (organisers, not you guys) so from now on wait 20mins and then call us so we can hit the panic button after we know it’s necessary. From the looks of things, it should be a much better day tomorrow…I hope. TO TRANSPORT OR NOT TO TRANSPORT: ALSO please let the community engagement offices know that you will NOT make use of their transport if you decide to go with your own car. They use the journalists names on my schedule to head count when the bus leaves so it’s just to help them to not wait around and call you, etc. You can pop into Nosipho’s office or just tell the driver quickly before you leave that you’re going on your own. NB!! Please keep checking your mails. I know you guys have lectures and lives beyond emails but I don’t have all of your phone numbers so please keep checking your mails especially an hour before your event at least to see if it’s still on or not. That brings me to another point…PLEASE make sure I have your working cell number. I know it’s weird giving it out to strangers but I’m literally just going to message you if I have to about events and after Trading Live I’ll delete it.
