Apparently the TRUTH gets you arrested here in Wayne County. Fact is our water department puts an undue burden on the average homeowner/taxpayer for a a necessary utility for instance: a $50 re levy charge to put on the annual County tax bill only town that does that SODUS and the Village of Sodus point I called EVERY TOWN in Wayne County I can say that as FACT. Water bills added to taxes result in HIGHER TAXES for the homeowner arent the taxes out here high enough without this added burden? Wayne County Water and Sewer DOES NOT levy water bills to taxes, they just shut you off if bill is unpaid or will work with the account holder to bring balance current. Wayne County was ordered back in 1996 I believe to put the water system in an AUTHORITY like Monroe County but have we NOPE. and guess who is stuck paying the large bill TAXPAYERS. According to NYS our water system should be set up with a SEPARATE BOARD to oversee it. Money should NOT be added to general fund it should be put into a separate account ONLY used for water expenses. I know those pesky NYS laws that Sodus doesnt follow. So in all actuality Soduss whole water system is quite illegal. So our water department is adding to the high tax problem, and the average homeowner has no recourse when Government runs amok like OVERCHARGING or ripping customers off like here in Sodus. and Id like to know WHY I have an extra charge on my taxes when my water district is paid for? We should change our Motto Wayne County where life isnt worth living.
