Apparently there is a video being circulated by a woman trying to prove that Monster Energy is being used by Satan for an agenda. Even if such were the case, I can assure you that it is not being done through a hidden numerical meaning in the letter M on their drink logo. Now, I have seen family members and friends circulating this video which makes me really scratch my head and ask, really? Then on top of that, fan pages, with thousands of likes, thousands of viewers, are also circulating this madness. Ladies and gentlemen, what is contained in that video is a classic example of Biblical illiteracy. When Peter said to defend the faith (1 Peter 3:15), I am certain he did not have in mind foolish conspiracies and deceitful practices. I may not yet be a Biblical Hebrew scholar, but I am on my way. I at least know a little Biblical Greek to handle this nonsense. First off, the number in question is 666, as the lady points out. She points out the three parts to the letter M in the logo then proceeds to display the Hebrew alphabet and the letter vav; its secondary usage being the number 6. She then points to the logo to show that there are three of them; vav, vav, vav,, ו, ו, ו. The issue with this is the fact that the number found in Scripture (Rev.13:18) can literally be translated from the Greek (the original language of the New Testament) into English as six hundred, sixty, six (ἑξακόσιοι ἑξήκοντα ἕξ). If it were to be translated into Hebrew, it would be tav resh samech vav; (סרתו; something profoundly different than whats on the can). I point this out because the number of the beast in Scripture is not simply three 6s in a row (which is what her misuse of Hebrew would indicate); its the number six hundred and sixty-six; one full number. I dont know for sure if her own intentions are evil, or if she is really that ignorant. However, I do believe there is something sinister about her video. Do you want to know what I believe it to be? It isnt just the fact that Monster Energy uses some coarse language on their products; rather its that many people buy into the conspiracy theories of narcissistic fearmongers like I believe this woman to be. Furthermore, I definitely see a correlation between those whove shared her video and the pages they like and share (Daystar Television Network, International House of Prayer, TBN Trinity Broadcasting Network, etc.; all charlatan ministries and threats to true Christian faith). It doesnt surprise me that one minute someone is sharing her video, then the next theyre sharing some quote or out-of-context Bible verse from one of those sites listed. My caution here is that people would be more diligent and more discerning. God is not honored by dishonest demon hunting. Hes honored by actual discipleship and evangelism.
