Apple earns less than Orange. However, whenever they meet, Apple will spend hours judging Oranges weight. She will comment about Oranges increasing waistline, the food that Orange eats and whatnot. Eventually, Orange feels insecure, though she herself seems okay. Were you often being looked down upon for no reason? If so, dont worry. We all have. Somehow, youll realize that there are people who like to do so—even when they have no right to it. If you analyse deeper, there is a reason for this. They themselves are insecure. In order to balance that insecurity, they rather amplify someones flaws instead of facing or accepting his or her flaws. You would have come across this before in work. Person A cannot do a task well. Instead of working to learn how to do it, he decides to comment about others work. The whole office is demoralized because of one person. And what if that person has the authority to set the culture of the office (e.g. a department manager)? It makes working a stressful event—just because of a persons flaw that he or she does not dare to face. While a little bit of that happening is perfectly reasonable (since we could have done this subconsciously), for it to affect many others would be harmful. One person can bring ten people down to hell easily. It is said that whenever there is people around, politics is bound to happen. Some people say they steer clear of politics by doing their own things. How do you achieve that with this example? Youre part of the equation. Is this just part of human nature? What do you think?
