Apple is the most disruptive company in the world! Apple and several other ‘ Techno’ are about to disrupt the techno-world and your life again! Every time Apple releases something new it causes a Disruption in the the force or status quo. The switch from Motorola chips to Power PC and then recently to Intel single core then dual core and and now quad core processors have caused great disruptions. Couple those disruptions with the iPod, followed by the iPhone, the iPad, the iPad 2, the iPad Mini, the duo core retina display iPad 3 & quad core iPad4 and the just released iPad Air or iPad 5 (with all the power & functionality of a portable laptop computer), then throw in the disruptions of Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion and now the Mavericks OS along with iOS 1-7.1.1 and you have massive, massive disruptions in the technology industry and Apples core user base. Now comes the FUTURE, it will happen as early as Fall 2014 and into 2015, but the writing is ALL OVER THE WALf, for those who will just look and read. Just 4 years ago Apple pioneered the Digital Hub concept that the rest of the technology/computer world has followed in 2012 (Actually ADOPTED for their survival). Over 30 companies make iType devices from cells to tablets, and WiFi rules the world in homes, thanks to Apples impact or Digital Hub. Yahoo, Goolge, Amazon, and Microsoft now all have App/music stores of some sort. Microsoft and Google are two of the big giants that have embraced the Apple Model of the Digital Hub (iCloud, G-Cloud, G-Drive, Cooliris, Photobucket, MS-Cloud) but they are all 4 years behind. There are over 500 companies that make digital hub products for Apple devices that did not exist 4 years ago. I should explain, once more, Apples Digital Hub placed your Mac in the center and in control of it; you than hung your iPod, iPhone, iPad, music, videos, digital camera, camcorder, printer, hard storage drives, movies, CDs, printers, scanners, etc, etc on the hub. Your Mac gave you easy access to all of it, making it possible for you to easily control and move your digital world from place to place or Mac to iDevice and back. Now that Apple has put all the parts in place it has transformed the industry once again with what will be the biggest disruption ever to the computer industry & its Mac users. The Mac had been displaced from the center, from the control of the Digital Hub, it has simply become JUST ANOTHER iDEVICE, because in this new scheme from Apple, the Mac is no more important than any other device you now or will use to interact with YOUR STUFF. Apple wants you to have EQUAL ACCESS TO YOUR STUFF FROM ANY DEVICE AND ANYWHERE. STUFF is the keyword, because your iPhone, iPod, iPad, Mac, and Web browsers are just DIFFERENT-SIZE WINDOWS TO YOUR STUFF. All our devices talk to on another to make sure your stuff is the same, regardless of what gadget you use at any given moment. We now have AirPrint, AirDrop, AirPlay, secure iCloud email, shared websites, shared contacts, shared emails, shared messages, shared FaceTimes, Shared Files, Shared Photos and Alblums, shared calendars and all this with builtin Facebook, Twitter and more. When STUFF rules the roost, concepts like file structure are no longer relevant. You dont have to care where your stuff is, you just want quick access to it. This explains the transition from Leopard, to Snow, to Lion, to Mountain and in the future the rarest non-cat of all iOS X version MAVERICKS. Apple REMOVED ALL FILE STRUCTURE FROM ALL ITS iDEVICES and has DE-EMPHASIZED IT IN THE MAC OS. The FOLDER & FINDER world has just been a way for us to visualize where are stuff was on our Mac (even though there are no folders or files at all, just 1s & 0s). Nothing now stands between that abstract construct and instead just thinking of our stuff as just available. Apple has made it difficult for users to tweak things the way we once did and the way PC Junkies still like to do. That trend is going to continue. Long time Mac users and PC users who dislike change and resist change to the folder/file construct are neither Apples nor Windows future. Almost 95% of people coming to the Mac have already had their FIRST experience with Apple products using iOS devices. They expect, Apple rightly believes, touch and gestures, feel comfortable with Launchpads interface and a simplified settings screen, and they wont gripe that their documents are tied to specific applications. Nor do they care where they are stored or how, they just want access to their STUFF from ANYWHERE. With the new Quad Core 64 Bit processors (Apple’s the first company to switch all of its products to 64 Bit Technology) in iPads, iPhones & MacBook Pros, it is difficult to distinguish between a computer and an “iPad in terns of productivity, power, speed, storage, printing, battery life, OS/iOS, etc, etc. In fact there is no difference in what one or the other can now do with your stuff. Expect all of your big monitors, computer towers, spinning mechanical hard drives, keyboards, mice, etc, etc to be replaced with hand and eye gestures or voice, via an iWare interface that can be projected onto other devices (TV) like the new glass-suface technology from Corning (video on YouTube). Your “STUFF” will be available from ANYWHERE at ANYTIME. Apple became a disruptive force in 1984 and is still the most disruptive company in the world where technology is concerned. It has changed the world in more ways than many of us realize and I hope they continue to disrupt things… for the better.
