Apples Fourth Generation iPad Replaces iPad 2: After launching - TopicsExpress

Apples Fourth Generation iPad Replaces iPad 2: After launching the 8GB variant of the iPhone 5C, Apple has finally retired the quite ancient iPad 2, replacing it with the fourth generation, Retina-equipped iPad. This is somewhat of an odd reappearance of the fourth-gen iPad. When the company introduced the iPad Air, it fully retired that version, but it left the iPad 2, originally launched in March 2011, as the entry-level model. Now, the iPad 2 is completely gone from the Apple Store, and is replaced by a fourth-gen, 16GB Retina iPad, which costs $399. Besides the Retina screen and the faster processor, one of the important differences between the two models is the lightning connector, which the iPad 2 didnt have. The only devices in Apple Store that still sport the old 30-pin connector are the iPhone 4S and the iPod classic.
