Application Engineer (EDMS) Location : Abu Dhabi based Closing Date : ASAP Job Purpose and Scope • Plan, coordinate, implement and support a corporate level GIS implementation. Ensure live access to quality GIS data to increase efficiency and integrity among users. Acts as a liaison with other departments for GIS related tasks. Performs professional level work related to defining, designing procedures and policies for GIS. Involve in overall GIS technical data management initiatives for the Company. Principal Accountabilities • Plans, develops, and coordinates with various departments for data requirements and integration tasks to create and maintain a GIS System. • Provides supervision, support and training from time to time to the corporate users in GIS. • Assigns and reviews GIS data for completeness and accuracy. • Establish policies and procedures for GIS strategy and implementation. • Ensure that the infrastructure, strategies and working practices of the GIS meet the business objectives of the Company. Create and update GIS data dictionary and metadata. • Interact and involve with IT department during GIS implementation and coordinate with IT department for GIS user support. • Co-ordinate to optimize the interoperability of the GIS with other applications. • Prepares a variety of technical reports, correspondence, manuals, procedures and other written materials related to GIS. • Evaluate and approve the security and disaster recovery policies for the GIS. • Monitors developments in the GIS usage and determines their potential effect upon the GIS system, recommends procedural and equipment changes to ensure system updating for the future. • Manage all Survey information including Site Maps, Sub-Sea pipelines profiles and navigation charts for offshore operations for use in GIS. • Prepare and present reports, analyses and provide management information data as required in appropriate forums. • Demonstrates continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless service to departments. Minimum Experience • Bachelor of Engineering or Geological sciences, Geosciences or similar field of study with emphasis on Geographical Information System. • Overall 8 years of GIS experience of which at least 3 years in GIS in Oil and Gas domain. • Understanding and knowledge of various aspects of business and operations in an Oil & Gas industry. • Good knowledge of ESRI suite of products and highly skilled in import, export, editing and manipulating data in Arc View, Arc Info, ArcIMS and ArcSDE environment. • Good understanding of corporate technical workflow. • Good strategic planning and technical management skills. • Good command of English Language and high skill in usage of Computers.
