Apply now for LBWCC scholarships LBW Community College is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2015-2016 academic year. “Scholarship applications are now online for both LBWCC institutional and foundation scholarships, including academic dual enrollment scholarships for high school students,” said Renée LeMaire, public information officer. The deadline for submission of the college and foundation scholarship application is March 2, 2015. Dual enrollment scholarships are due March 27. “A limited number of academic dual enrollment scholarships are provided by the LBWCC Foundation and this is the only opportunity for high school students to apply,” said LeMaire. “Technical dual enrollment scholarships, provided by the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development, are processed differently. Those interested in a technical program should request information from their high school counselor or call 334-493-5320.” There are also scholarship opportunities for 2015 high school graduates, LBWCC students, and non-traditional students (out of school for at least one year), she said. LBWCC scholarships include Presidential Academic and Presidential Technical, Honors Program, Ambassadors, athletic, and performing arts scholarships, which include art, music, and drama. “The newest College scholarships are for high school valedictorians and salutatorians, leadership scholarships, and non-traditional scholarships.” Apply for any of the College or foundation scholarships with one application. A separate application is available for academic dual enrollment scholarships. “The scholarship application, required documentation and instructions on how to apply are only available in electronic format online at lbwcc.edu under financial aid and scholarships,” said LeMaire. “Applicant packets are considered incomplete unless all required documentation is included, so be sure to read carefully for any additional requirements for a specific scholarship and include those documents at the time the application is submitted. Applications will no longer be available past the deadline dates.” For more information, call 334-222-6591.
