Carl, the owner, has a passion for good food and The Greedy Pig relish in making their own pulled pork, dry cured bacon, fresh sausages and hams along with air dried products such as Chorizo, Salami, Coppa Ham, with much more planned for the menu in the not too distant future. This passion has driven them onto now producing all their own pigs for our Hog roast business and where possible their range of charcuterie products. There charcuterie range is continually developing with only the highest quality ingredients playing a major role. As a small business, the Job Role will be varied, with production dependent on orders. The daily duties could include – Receiving Delivery of Pork Carcass Preparing Carcass for Hog Roasts Butchering Carcass for Production Mincing Mixing Sausage Making Bacon / Ham Curing Charcuterie Curing Chorizo Making Slicing Meats Packing of Finished Meats Labeling Cleaning Deliveries Serving at Hog Roasts Attending music festivals and serving produce This is a position with great career prospects and will enable the successful applicant to learn from the best whilst completing their NVQ Level 2 in Butchery. Working hours (including college if applicable): 40 hours total over the 5 days, including the day in college variable starts and finishes Working days: 40 hours to be worked over 7 seven days or 5 days, depending on seasonality and Hog Roast commitments and other labour availability.
