Approaching Christmas For a child has been born for us, a son - TopicsExpress

Approaching Christmas For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6) How do you approach Christmas? Is it rush, rush, rush? Finish things off at work? Buy the presents and the food and…. All those things are all well and good, but you know what I think is really sad? When we get to Christmas exhausted and it’s like, empty and hollow. Yep, that’s sad, because God spent an eternity planning Christmas. An absolute eternity! And His plan is so beautiful. So simple: To say “I love you” in the most profound, incredible way. To step out of Heaven into a stable in Bethlehem … as a nobody. To give us His Son – not a Christmas pantomime – but a declaration of peace. Peace between God and me. Peace between God and you. So that if we accept that wondrous Christmas present, God’s own Son into our hearts, then the consequences, the turmoil that come from our rejection of God … are over. They are no more. Christmas. Peace and good will for each one of us. # Jesus
