Approximately 10,000 words away from finishing the first draft of my first novel. At which point I am going to totally ignore it for 2-4 weeks. In that time, I will ponder deeply on my second novel and map out the plot, characters, and theme. Then, I will return to novel one and do a second draft - and then inflict it upon my small selection of friends who have thankfully agreed to read it and give me feedback. So, the goal is to have the second draft of novel one done in February, and then have novel twos first draft written by end of summer (it will be shorter (and better?) than novel one). And hopefully somewhere in there someone with some sort of sway will be like, Hey, I like those things. Maybe other people should read them. We shall see.
