Approximately 14 fifth grade students, from Trinity Lutheran School, took part in yesterday’s D.A.R.E. graduation ceremony under the direction of Davenport Police Sergeant Andrew Harris. Guest speaker, Iowa State Senator Roby Smith taught the students the importance of listening to their parents, along with law enforcement, to help make good decisions. Drug Abuse Resistance Education, or D.A.R.E., is an international education program that began in 1984 that seeks to teach students good decision-making skills and to lead lives free from violence, substance abuse and other dangerous behaviors. Congratulations to all who graduated yesterday!
