April 17, 2013 Willy (aka Wilhelmina until we discovered this was a male) came back into our lives. While on our feeding route, we rounded the corner hearing loud crying from a distance. Looking up we see Willy making his way towards us. He looked emaciated, barely hanging on. He was a feral cat at one of the colonies that went missing - it was many months. Scottie was shocked, said it was Willy. He cautioned me not to pick him up because he was feral. But this kitty wanted help and we knew we had to get him in. When he was meowing, his jaw looked crooked. He wanted to eat but couldnt. His eartips were blackened as was the skin behind his neck. Frostbite. Scottie reached out and touched him, Willy did nothing. Then he went to pick him up to put him in the carrier and Willy allowed him to. There was not a bit of resistance. We took him back to the sanctuary for evaluation.
