April 1st kicks off many different types of awareness months....but the one near and dear to my heart is April as the month of the Military Child. There are roughly 11,000 service-connected children in Oregon and their needs are uniquely different than those children who live in the communities created by military installations. This year as 1200 Oregonians are tapped for deployment, lets keep those children and families in mind. As there are opportunities to get involved with helping deployed families I will keep my FB friends all posted.
