April 22: My mom weighed 169 July 3: My mom weighed 152 In 10 weeks she dropped 17lbs and for the most part, her bloodwork was really good. No hardcore training or restrictive diets. Why? The doctor told her it would help with her heart and overall health. This is called Intrinsic Motivation. She had a reason to do it. What did she do? She asked me what I do and did that. She ate Protein, Veggies, Fruit, Some dark chocolate and walked an hour or more everyday. In the last 3 weeks we introduced some strength work. She managed her stress, slept more and made her health a priority. She ate more nutritious food than she ever really has (she ate MORE!) She still wants to drop another 5-7 and knows the journey is not over. Im sure its awkward for her with our Role Reversal (Learning from me) but I am really proud of my Mom. This is the hardest Ive ever seen her work. What is your Motivation and Why? Be Well - John Strength. Tenacity. Resilience.
