April 27, 2014 Weekly update: Hello everyone! Hope youre all doing great! My weeks been quite good. I think Ive only got 2 weeks left in John Day, I could have 8 but I doubt it. Its been so wonderful to be here, its so beautiful here and the people have been so nice to me! We had testimony meeting yesterday and the theme seemed to be on missionary work, either with us, or by doing family history work. It was super touching to hear all the great testimonies that were given. One young man had talked about how he had felt the spirit strongly tell him to talk to some kids one night, but he didnt. He felt terrible! So the next time he felt the impression come to him he acted. He was with his family and he told them about how much the gospel has done for him and how much he wanted them to feel the same change as he had. He begged them to please try, to learn more and to be with him to visit with the missionaries. He talked about how if we truly loved those we call our family or friends. We would want to share the greatest thing we have with them, the gospel. This week weve had amazing success and in May, we should be having about 5 baptisms. I dont think Ill be here for them, but I was with 4 of these people from the start of their progression. They have changed so much and are so thankful for what they have experienced. One lady hugged me at church yesterday, she cries and thanks us every time we visit with her and expressed how much she loves us and her savior for this opportunity. I love these people so much and its so amazing to see what the Lord has done and continues to do for those who are willing to accept Him. This is the most amazing work I could ever be a part of. I cant even describe how much gratitude and love I feel here. I invite everyone who reads this, share the gospel. You wont regret it, helping those you love, or at least just offering this gospel will fill you with the most amazing joy you can feel. For those of you who dont know much about the LDS church, ask the members of the church you know. The sweet peace that the gospel brings is the most amazing thing and I promise that you wont regret keeping Gods commandment and trying to follow our saviors example. I know this is getting long, but I wish I could tell each one of you personally how much this means to me. I love you all, but more importantly God loves you. Hope you all have a wonderful week.
