April 27-29 2014: I was at the Northwest Wine Summit at Hood - TopicsExpress

April 27-29 2014: I was at the Northwest Wine Summit at Hood River, Oregon where I was one of approx. 20 persons who spent three days judging about 700 wines. Although the results have not been publicly listed yet, we know that Tongue River Winery won GOLD for its popular semi-sweet white wine, La Crescent, which gave us the top award for Montana, granting us for the Granite Peak Award for 2014. (Each states highest wine is named for its highest peak!) We know we won other medals as well, but havent been given the results yet. They will be posted here and at tongueriverwinery as soon as we have the results! It was a fascinating experience for me. The judges were made up of wine makers, wine wholesalers and buyers and sommeliers from several states. Northwest Wine Summit accepts only wines from wineries in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alberta and British Columbia. Its 990 miles driving each way to Hood River, Oregon. Im glad I got home safely!
