Aquarium of the Pacific has some NEW RAYS in Shark Lagoon! Along with the bonnethead sharks and cownose rays on exhibit in the large touch pool in Shark Lagoon, there are now two blue-spotted rays (Taeniura lymma). Cool & Interesting Fact: Their bright blue spots warn other ocean animals to stay away, because these rays are venomous. The blue-spotted ray’s tail has two sharp venomous spines at the tip, which are used to keep predators away.
