Positions are available in the following areas: Aquatic Fitness Instructor Conducts aquatic fitness classes in a safe, enjoyable environment demonstrating good class control and advanced training as related to the specialized program. Qualifications: FOLP Instructor/ Aquatic or CALA or SPEEDO training/ certification required- CPR, AED, Bronze Cross/ NLS an asset. Instructor Conducts swimming lessons in a safe enjoyable environment demonstrating good class control and safety supervision. Qualifications: LSS (Lifesaving & Swim Instructor), NLS, Standard First Aid + CPR ‘C’, AED Responder, AST (Preferred), LS Examiner (Preferred), HighFive (PHCD). Lifeguard Ensures the safety of participants within the aquatic facility. Guards recreational swimming, rentals, and preschool classes. Performs maintenance duties as assigned. Qualifications: NLS, Standard First Aid + CPR ‘C’, AED Responder. EMPLOYMENT EXPECTATIONS: • Staff must be available to work for the entire employment period • Staff may be placed at any one of 5 indoor swimming pools within the Town • Personal preferences are not considered in placements. • Shifts may be morning, afternoon, or evening or any combination there of • All qualifications must be current for the entire employment period • Staff members must attend all staff training sessions pertinent to their position • Staff members are required to maintain the ability and fitness level to perform skills at or above the standard of their highest award(s) • The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check dated within the last 30 days. • Staff members must maintain a vision requirement of 20/20 corrected. • Staff must commit to 2 shifts per week. Once hired, the Department will need your Social Insurance Number (SIN). These numbers could take 6-8 weeks to get once you have applied.
