Arap KurgatRas MutahSammy Utuku and Betty Murugi- COURTESY OF WIMWARO FM - 93.0 wimwarofm.co.ke APPEAL FOR COUNTYS RESPONSE TO INSECURITY IN MBEERE SOUTH AT THE MOMENT-ALARMING! It is sad to note the negligence that the government has portrayed to the residents of Mbeere South on matters of Security. The rate at which the cases of insecurity are rising and recorded is now alarming. We cannot continue to allow the persons responsible for security of the public to sleep on their duty and expect that we shall close our ears not to hear the cry of the people. If things are not settled at this early stage we may blame the members of the public in taking the law into their hands. Because of these important factors, I have the following points to make to the County Government of Embu: 1. I appeal to the Governor of Embu to authorize that the County Commissioner in-charge of Mbeere South investigate the Security officers and their devotion to duty. 2 I appeal to the Member of National Assembly and the Members of County Assembly in Mbeere South to find out whether the Local Administrators are responsive on all criminal reports and suspects submitted by the members of the public. 3. I appeal to the County Government of Embu to liaise with the County Commissioners to see if there is need to restructure the department of Internal Security in Mbeere South. Our people in Mbeere South have right to security from the government of Kenya and the relevant authorities must take the necessary measures to combat insecurity in the area. If this is not done , the peoples daily economic activities and business may be paralyzed and this will lead to collapse of County development and the economy of the people. Finally, It is SO SAD TO HEAR ANY LOSS OF LIFE ARISING IN OUR CONSTITUENCY WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN PREVENTED BY THE SECURITY PERSONNEL IN-CHARGE OF THE AREA. The residents of Mbeere South will obviously not allow the officers to continue their duties under such laxity. Dr. Kitheka Mumo (Native of Mbeere South). CC. John Bosco Mutegi Kiura.
