Arbaaz Khan tries out Vipassana Does a 10-day vipassana course in Igatpuri Arbaaz Khan recently spent 10 days at the Vipassana Meditation Centre in Igatpuri. The actor says he now has a fresh perspective towards life. Arbaaz had watched a documentary on Kiran Bedi who made the inmates of Tihar jail follow the course and was impressed. Amazing workshop However, the actor says that the urge to attend it came to him at a much later stage. Interestingly, Arbaaz left for Igatpuri the same day the terror attacks happened in the city. Everyone was concerned if I should go ahead with the trip, but I proceeded as planned. It was amazing. As per the rules, those attending the workshop are not allowed to speak to anyone for 10 days. Arbaaz didnt find it tough. I dont know why everyone finds it tough to keep silent for 10 days. I found it quite easy. The surroundings and the environment are definitely different. You wake up at 4 am and the accommodation is very basic. The food is served at a particular time and you cant make too many demands. Its like living a sages life. Khan plans to continue the meditation techniques he learnt during the stay. The most simple thing I learnt is that think positive thoughts, and watch them come to life. It teaches you to relax, be in the moment and let go of the past, guilt or anything thats holding you from moving on. Would he recommend the course to others? Sure I would. But unless you feel the urge from within, you wont attend the course. What is Vipassana? Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is Indias most ancient techniques of meditation. It was rediscovered by Gautam Buddha more than 2,500 years ago and was taught by him as a universal remedy for universal ills.
