Archbishop Desmond Tutu has just published a powerful appeal to conscience in an Israeli newspaper. In its article, the Nobel Prize and legend of the struggle against apartheid join the 1.6 million people who are asking majors to boycott and divest of all activities related to the repression and occupation of Israel over Palestine. His humanity and his love shine in each paragraph, while urging the citizens of Israel (87% of whom support the bombing of Gaza) to liberate themselves from this terrible status quo. His reading is indispensable. Here is their editorial (you can register for free by request or try this other link). The text can only be read in the Israeli newspaper, but its an important piece to legitimize a position that some governments still considered controversial, and the rest of the world needs to read it. The only way to get it is by sharing it with us. Lets do it. Our campaign is making headway. Actor Russell Brand has filmed a video supporting our request, and we aimed at multinationals are beginning to call to set up meetings. Our community is mobilizing in the UK to end arms sales to Israel taking advantage of the English Executive is in full review of its policies. And surprisingly, the same American government just freeze sending hellfire missiles to Israel. The pressure is working - continue increasing it! If you still have not done so, sign the petition. Or click here to continue sending messages to key enterprises. Not think you can give us the slip. And if you want to mount a local campaign by asking your city, your school, or the community in which you live to withdraw all funds that may contribute to the Palestinian repression, do not hesitate to work by clicking on this link. For us raise our voice is amazing along with Desmond Tutu once again. Because it is a formidable pacifist leader, and because in a world plagued by extremists who so often fail to demonize the other nonviolent struggle is essential for change. Enormous strength to stand firm for justice is required, but from the love of all those who refuse to become victims of fear and ignorance that make up our overall most feared enemy. A feeling of love that recognizes that destinations and freedom of each of us are strongly intertwined required. This addition to being the spirit we have been taught incredible leaders like Gandhi or Tutu himself, is the thread from which the community takes in each of our campaigns.
