Archie had a really brilliant coffee morning launch at Davies close in winsham this morning and met some really lovely residents. The children came up from winsham primary school to sing and share in their coffee morning. One of the teaching assistants said her children went to redstart school where the Archie project is in full swing. She said her 7 year old came home all excited and very knowledgable. Telling her about three types of dementia she had learnt about and all the signs and symptoms. She said that people with dementia have problems with their short term memory but can often remember things from their childhood. The teaching assistant said she had learnt from her daughter and so it just shows how the project is working sharing knowledge with families and spreading the dementia awareness message. So exciting when you hear how it really works. Also had our first look at the Archie film today on our you tube. It is really brilliant thanks to Ingrid and Colin. A few tweaks and then it goes live.
