Are We Being Molded by Jehovah? Have you ever shaped clay on a potters wheel? Too wet--it doesnt hold a shape; too dry--it falls apart. The clay has to be of the right consistency if it is to be molded by the potter. Are you the right consistency to be molded by Jehovah? Will you allow yourself to be molded? If you are to be successfully molded by Jehovah you need the following ingredients: heart condition, and attitude (Proverbs 13:20). Will you allow yourself to be enticed by your own desires, making you unfit to be molded? (James 1:13-15) How do you respond to the molders direction? James 4:8 points out how we have to draw close to Jehovah in order to be molded by him. What Jehovah allows to befall us shapes our attitude toward Him, his son Christ Jesus, His Organization our brothers and sisters, and the commission to preach the good news of his kingdom. A small pilot light is the source of a roaring inferno when it starts the kiln to fire up the clay vessel. When we first took in knowledge of the Truth we were like that little pilot light, and soon it became the source of a deluge of Bible Truth that we shared with everybody--a roaring inferno. The Theocratic Ministry School trained us to skillfully harness that energy so that we could preach with skill and become, for some, public speakers. The fire in a kiln also needs to be consistently producing the right amount of heat. At Ruth 1:16 we see she allowed herself to be molded. Others allowed themselves to be molded to become missionaries, pioneers, elders, ministerial servants, Christ Jesus. All allowed themselves to be molded. We need to beware that we do not regress and let the kiln and the pilot light to go out, making the potters work of no use in our case.
