Are You Rejecting The Words Of Jesus And Yet Trying To Experience Him? Whenever you reject the words of Jesus when forming your theology you are rejecting the very one by which you have been called into vital union with God. Everyday denominations and other groups reject the words of Jesus routinely while seeking to experience Jesus at the same time. To disregard Jesus words is to disregard God no matter how prolific you may call yourself being and regardless to what experiences youve had with God. Paul warned that we are not to be ignorant of Satans devices and to be on guard for our adversary the Devil moves about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. My friends there are those who the Devil takes captive at his will. 2 Timothy 2:24-26 24The Lords bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, 25with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, 26and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will. 2 Timothy 3:6-8 …6For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, 7always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith.… That means that based on the devils own whim and the ignorance of the people he seeks to control, he can take them captive. It is this sort of people who under the manipulation of the enemy, no matter how educated they are and how spiritually gifted they think they are, they will still reject the words of Jesus having no regard for Jesus words, preferring instead to side with their feelings, opinions, ideas born of religion and tradition, and the many pragmatic rationalizations man institutes to justify his entrenched thinking. I am here today to tell you that you must judge your thinking in light of the whole counsel of God and not by the imaginations of men that fancy themselves as knowing the will of God for many have been seduced by the Devil himself and deceived to believe that God approves their ideas over the words of Jesus. Luke 11:35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Isaiah 37:23 Who is it you have ridiculed and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel! John 12:48-49 …47If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. 48He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. 49For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak.… My friends do not become entangled with those who reject the words of Jesus for invariably they will cause you to use words contrary to Jesus, and the words Jesus used of Himself even through those He sent to you will be the very words that judge you in the final day.
