Are any of my author friends who are or were exclusive with Amazon scratching their heads over this new Kindle Unlimited thing? I mean math is definitely not my strong suit, but even I figured out its a lose/lose for authors and them. I have been exclusive for a long time, but asked them to remove me from KDP Select because they just automatically added me to KU without my consent. They immediately removed me when I sent them an email to that effect. Im going to be spreading my eggs back in other baskets now. The Prime Lending Library was perfectly fine, since it was limited to one rental a month. I picked up new readers like that. People arent going to wait a whole year, which is what it would take to work through the series. Theyll buy some of the books. This new program is just dumb in my opinion, because Id be picking up readers, but losing money. They wouldnt have to buy a single book, and could read the whole series in a month for $9.99. Dumb, dumb, dumb. The readers are going to end up with .99 books to check out, and a very limited supply at that, I think, if other authors feel the way I do.
