Are fasts accepted without prayers? Allah Subhanah has made the five prayers obligatory upon the believers, and the person who does not offer the five obligatory prayers indeed commits a grave sin in the sight of Allah Subhanah. It is not conceivable nor logical that a person who does not offer his obligatory prayers, would honor the much more difficult task of the obligatory fasts of Ramadan; but unfortunately there are a few isolated cases where this occurrence does happen in today’s age of ignorance! The obligatory prayers and fasts are considered two amongst the five pillars of Islam; and if any pillar is compromised, the structure will never be stable. If one does perform the obligatory fasts of Ramadan without honoring the obligatory prayers, his case is with Allah Subhanah; and He Alone will and can Judge whether to accept the fasts of such a person or not.
