Are my steelers really breaking tradition and signing free agents? I guess Ive romanticized that they built from within and drafted well. But this is a new age. Highly competitive. I guess the penguins and pirates have been doing what they can for years. I dont disagree with trying to find a new spark. Our tradition for years has been winning and thats the tradition we should work the hardest for. We can always pat ourselves on the back for maintaining a certain ethic for building a football team for so long but after a while if youre not willing to change, that stubbornness becomes your undoing. Honestly I wasnt expecting two back to back .500 seasons. I was expecting two losing seasons. Id even take another season of relative regression to start moving forward for the long term. Sometimes a reset is healthy.
