Are our Journalists on Campaign Funders Pay List? Top Journalists Serenading Party Political Leaders On September 1, 2013 one political party held its delegates conference at Castle Bruce under rain and stormy weather. At the end of the event journalists Mathias Peltier and Carlise Jno Baptiste in euphoria summed up the day’s proceedings on their live broadcast. According to these Journalists, the occasion exceeded expectation in spite of the inclement weather; they highlighted the acceptance speech of newly elected political leader and likened it to the grate speeches of Martin Laughter King and Barrack Obama. They both without any objective criticism rated the speech as the best ever by a political leader in Dominica’s history. Later that evening Mr. Peltier was reporting live on radio at the scene of a fire at Mahaut. He again took the opportunity to re enforce his commendation of the speech of the political leader, on this occasion; significantly he qualified his commendations by preceding it with the quote “without being bias”. Mr. Peltier kept on highlighting excerpts from the speech and lauding it daily on his talk show. On September 15, 2013 another political held its delegates conference at Pointe Mitchel under bright sunny weather. The event was well attended. The said journalists subsequently reported calmly on the day’s proceedings as their radio station was not contracted to broadcast it live. During the days following Mr. Peltier highlighted on his daily talk show what he considered the worst part of party’s leader speech and claimed that it paled in comparison to the other leader’s speech. We are left to wonder whether the motive was the excitement of the debutant leader versus the expectation of the veteran leader or bias or incentive. On September 29, 2013 the first mentioned political party held its 25th convention rally at Londonary. The journalists were captured on screen grouping the party political leader like a security detail. The conduct of the journalists brought into sharp focus the information presented by the party political leader at Point Mitchel that a European colonizing group called SCL (Strategic Communications Laboratories) was contracted to execute the political campaign of first mentioned party. Information on Strategic Communication Laboratories is a London based Israeli owned psychological warfare and smear outfit. In this context they have created and funded false NGO called the “Foundation of Independent Journalists” which they paid to stress messages favourable to their client. Under all these circumstance it is a very reasonable question to ask whether our journalist is on the Pay List of campaign funders. Political Observer
