Are the authorities perhaps saving on electricity costs to make up for the bollards, which were also unplanned and excluded in the original budget? Although we ended up with a metalled main road instead of the promised elaborate brickwork one boasted on billboards & media, we were informed the costs allocated to Dock 1s regeneration were doubled last year, after the new administration conceived & wisely invested in a state of the art watering system, sourced by Bormlas own natural water reservoirs - not the ones emptied at sea then resealed to no purpose, another one! A year following this costly watering investment, the new, short lived lawn is turning into a desert and these 2 year old concrete slabs still left yearning 4 water to metamorphose into one of the promised artistic fountains at the regenerated dock. Until then, we hope that some kids will continue to find them amusing
