Are there any metalers around my age in here who remember Culprit? - TopicsExpress

Are there any metalers around my age in here who remember Culprit? They were from up here in Seattle, and released their only full-length album Guilty as Charged (on Shrapnel Records) in 1983. It got excellent reviews and they looked to be on their way. (They also played on the compilation album U.S. Metal Vol. II in 82.) Culprit had great musicianship, were energetic, heavy, old-school - kinda reminiscent of Riot and early Maiden - yet they fit right in the early thrash scene. They toured up and down the coast with a lot of up and coming bands at the time (including early Metallica), but split up before they attained major success, and went their separate ways. They briefly reunited in 2001 to play the Wacken Festival in Germany. Several years ago, I got to know their vocalist, Jeff LHeureux - that dude sings with incredible power and presence, and has the wail of a banshee. Hes really a good guy, but hell be the first to admit that his drug habit derailed the band and his career. At least we got one great album out of them! Anyways, this video is from a TV appearance in 83.
