Are they really incapable of reading a history book to see just how many essential people in various stages of human existence have been gay? Do they not realize that some of the greatest painters of all times, greatest philosophers, greatest thinkers, greatest military generals have all been gay? Dont they know that WW II was basically won by one gay man on the allied side: Britains Alan Turing, who broke the German enigma code? Alan who was such a genius that he laid the very foundation for all modern computers and even video games? This gay man was so brilliant, that he was beginning to understand how mathematics determined how the stripes of a zebra, or a butterfly, or any other living thing comes to have those spots and stripes. What did British society of the 50s do for this war hero and national treasure? They arrested him on morals charges, chemically castrated him, and in the process destroyed that most brilliant brain of his that might have cured cancer for all we know. They finally pushed him to take his own life by biting into an apple that had been injected with cyanide. And now, of course the American version of ISIS has begun their early march on this beautiful man (Jamie) , a man that Im proud to have heard, support, and love as a fellow gay man. I issue a warning to these church people, of the Westboro Baptist ilk and their kind: Remember, the entire known world has been conquered twice, by gay men. We can be trod on just a little too much.
