Are tougher rules needed for Ohio’s teen drivers? At least one - TopicsExpress

Are tougher rules needed for Ohio’s teen drivers? At least one state lawmaker wants to toughen driving restrictions on Ohio teenagers. State Rep. Rick Perales, R-Beavercreek, proposes prohibiting teen drivers from giving a ride to any other teenager, requiring backseat passengers to wear a seat belt and changing Ohio’s teen driving curfew from midnight to 10 p.m. Perales said his bill would bring the state’s rules closer to the recommendations of safety groups. Teens engaged in work and school activities would be exempt from the new night rules. Current Ohio law allows 16-year-old drivers to transport one unrelated passenger of any age. What do you think? Are these changes needed? Or is the law already strict enough?
