Are unbelievers in JESUS? -1- Are they children of God? Paul answers these questions directly! Lets deal with the last question first. Follow Pauls logic through carefully! Ephesians 2:1-6New International Version (NIV) 2 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts 1. Paul speaks to believers about their lives when they were lost! Q. What happened to them whilst they were still lost? Ephesians 2:4-5 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ EVEN WHEN we were DEAD in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 1. Can it be clearer than that? God made ALIVE all those who were still dead in their sins and whilst dead in their sins!!! This was how much God revealed his love to us Whilst lost and dead in our sins he rescued us He made ALL - not some - who were still dead in sins ALIVE!!! Thats the Gospel!! It happened for all WITH JESUS. When Jesus died and rose again all who were dead in sins were made alive with him! But santo it doesnt say that all the lost are IN Christ but WITH Christ! Oh yes it does! Lets read on! Ephesians 2:6 6 And God raised us up WITH Christ and seated us WITH him in the heavenly realms IN Christ Jesus, With or IN - same thing!! 2. All those dead in sins have not only been raised up together WITH JESUS but ALL those dead in sins and whilst dead in sins have also been made to sit in heavenly realms right next to the Father IN IN IN IN JESUS. All those lost and dead in sin are IN JESUS. IN heavenly places IN JESUS At the right of the FATHER IN IN Jesus! 2. This happened universally for all mankind 3. I didnt choose any of this when it happened 4. I didnt believe it when it happened 5. Its true and finished regardless if I believe reject or accept it This is universal objective salvation. Salvation?! Yes!! Didnt you see the word right in the middle of it? Ephesians 2:4-5 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been SAVED See? Bet you skipped that part?! Salvation is objective universal and completed in the doing dying and raising of JESUS. Now ... The objective universal in Christ salvation of those dead in sins Still needs to become a subjective reality by faith!!! But whether we come to faith and realise what has already been done Doesnt change the finished universal objective salvation of all those dead in sins We preach this message so that people can come to faith To see and realise whats already been finished in JESUS So that they can enter into it and experience it at heart level. So that they can cry Abba Father. But it is still finished regardless All unbelievers are in Christ objectively. No faith required.
