Are vaccines directly causative for autism, in that action A - vaccination - leads predictably and in every case to outcome B - diagnosed autism or a related spectrum disorder? - No. (Direct causation is complex and very difficult to prove and some might even say that in the area of human health it does not exist; under the above definition of causation, even commercial cigarette smoking is not directly causative for lung cancer, but conventional wisdom accepts that it can and does.) Is a lack of direct, reproducible causation between vaccines and ASD a reason to dismiss all personal testimony (such as those seen in the video playlist below) as unscientific, as reason to accept vaccination without question for the purported individual and greater good and as reason to deride and ostracise those who exercise their right to choose to refuse vaccination? - In my opinion, no. Is it a reason to be fully informed of the risks of vaccination before consenting to a medical procedure that indisputably, according to information from the pharmaceutical and medical industries itself, can and does cause harm, and reason to filter that information through ones individual world view and risk assessment? - In my opinion, yes. Can vaccines cause autism or related neurological disorders in certain susceptible cases? It hard for many of us to hear well but yes, they can and they do. That makes the categorical, oft-heard declaration of vaccines as safe and effective highly debatable, if not outright false. Whether vaccination is the right course of action for you and your family is solely for you to judge and is a decision that must, as I see it, remain firmly within the realm of health freedom. But whatever you personally decide, and there is no right or wrong answer, lets give space for these parents to break their silence on the vaccine violence they and their children have personally suffered, and to feel the soothing balm of being able to simply tell and have heard their stories. ☮ Charlotte.
