Are we going to cast girls into boy parts? From our director, Rhonda Perry: Going into auditions I aim to cast boys in boy roles (no girls playing boys), but we need enough boys to come out for that to happen! I would suggest that if any girl doesnt want to play a boy, she should make that clear on her registration forms. As far as female roles, we plan to have 3 girls share the narrator part (this is a huge role and will still be meaty even when split into 3). This is a big dance show, and Sandi (our choreographer) would like about 8-10 principle dancers for varied styles including ballet, partner dancing, gymnastics, calypso, and others. We also need angels, who will be onstage almost the entire show, wives and other singing roles for girls (butler, baker, etc.) Crissi posted a list of characters we are looking for that gives more details. From Jessica Allen: I agree. There are so many featured girl parts even if they dont necessarily sing. On top of that, The narrators sing a lot and there are a lot of random girl vocal lines for The ensamble. There will be featured singers as well as dancers. It is a very fun show and there will be a great Community built because of it. Cant wait to start The show!!!
