Are we really free? As I look back deep into my history; Slavery days and the segregation between you and me ,leaves me at a very debatable question Are we really free From the cotton picking days and the marching in the streets for this thing called freedom but still I dont feel free. Just because we have rights and a couple of things changed makes your mind wonder will his all we have in exchange; Exchange for our pain, Exchange for our tears, Exchange for our sleepless nights because we live in fear. Are we really free? is a question Im trying to beat. Just the thought of all the abhorrent things others went through saddens me. Our judicial system is very messed up cops gunning down black me because of what? the shooter gets away with no type of sentence and if hey dont kill them he black men goes to prison. We are always int he wrong but we fought for our rights. Are we really free is a question I hold on to with all my might. We are still hated by the color, I guess some things dont change but a black mans opinion, sacrifice, and bravery will make us all remember his name. -TatianaJ Happy Martin Luther King Day
