Are yall ready for some Powerful Points of Praise??? :) Lets Proceed. Today Im thankful for: *Pensacola Christian College- I thank God for a place where I could get a great education, learn a strong work ethic, have great fun, make great friends, and grow spiritually. I am thankful for the founders Dr. & Mrs. Horton and the many faculty and staff members who served us students faithfully for many years. I know that it has not been smooth sailing all the time for them- real ministry never is- but Im grateful that they stayed at the helm and I pray that God blesses all these faithful servants beyond measure. *Perfume- I cant get enough of it- love smelling pretty. Thankful that when I may not smell so good on my own, I have the means to artificially give off the aroma of flowers. *Psalms- my very first favorite book of the Bible! *Panera Bread- If I had enough dough Id eat there every day instead of just loafing around. *Puns- see above; I didnt say I was good at making them, folks, just that I am thankful for them. *Persecuted Brothers and Sisters in Christ- I try to pray for fellow believers around the world who are in real persecution. Often I forget. :( But I do thank God for Christians who stand together, loving one another, and focusing on whats truly important- the Saviour. My heart is grateful for their courage and Im looking forward to meeting them in heaven one day. *Positive People of Praise- I am drawn to positive people; thats just how it is. It doesnt mean that I dont deal with the tuff stuff in life. Im a pastors wife- I counsel; I deal with broken hearts; I pray for the hurting, abused, and sick. But in the most dire situations, God can bring beautiful things. He is so much more than the circumstances around us. Positivity is a gift from God that all believers have access to. Joy is one of the first fruits of the Spirit- an indicator of a real walk with God. The more Im with God- in His Presence through His Word, seeing the beauty of Who He is, marveling in what He has given to me in spite of what I am not, the more praise to Him and for His works and His people will fall from my lips. It just happens! And I am edified and left better by those who choose praise instead of harboring a critical spirit. Makes me review my heart often: How much of my speech and thoughts are given each day to criticizing, grumbling, complaining, gossiping, tearing down, and how much of it is pure praise and thanksgiving- thats what will draw a lost and hurting world to Jesus, so thats what I will choose. I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalms 34:1 Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. Ps. 33:1 To give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Isa. 61:3
