Are you a Calvert Hall grad? If so, please read and bear with me. A few weeks back, I invited a large number of people to a Networking Happy Hour that I host on behalf of the Calvert Hall Golf program. Its a small fundraising type event for us that basically covers a large portion of our team uniforms next spring. Its more about bringing people together in the community who either support me or the golf program to talk about their businesses and companies. Anyway, one of those invited sent me a reply that said, Drew, Id love to attend but I went to Loyola and I cant donate money to anything related to Calvert Hall. Ill have to pass. Honestly, I was stunned by that reply, but Im guessing thats a very rare occasion in town when a Loyola grad intentionally disregards the efforts of a Calvert Hall endeavor. My friend Van Brooks (a Loyola guy) is involved in this project to provide Baltimores homeless with 200 sleeping bags this winter. Through the generosity of SECU and Erin Shannon, plus donations from Drews Morning Dish readers, Ive purchased 130 of them so that Van meets his mid-November goal. I need a couple of Calvert Hall grads to help me put the finishing touches on this by showing their support for an awesome Loyola grad who is doing Gods work in the community.
