Are you a Israeli or an Israelite? Is there a difference? In - TopicsExpress

Are you a Israeli or an Israelite? Is there a difference? In order to understand one’s true intent or the meaning behind a phrase or a sentence, the proper contextual wordage must be used. For example, there is a difference between an Israeli and a Israelite. The terms Israeli, refers to a citizen of the State of Israel, while Israelite refers to all of the Jewish people. However, is their really a difference, or is it all semantics? The answer is yes to both. An Israeli, is specific in nationality and physical location while an Israelite is a more general term, solely connected to religious identification and not geographical location or a specific countries citizenship. On the other hand we do know that “All Israel is Responsible One for the Other” (Babylonian Talmud Sheuvot 39a), and that many of us as Israelites hold a close affinity and loyalty towards the State of Israel. Due to our loyalty as Israelites towards the State of Israel and all Israelis who are now under the bombardment of Hamas, I would like to invite all of us to vocally and publicly support Israel. One of the ways to do this is attending today’s Dallas-Fort Worth Supports Israel Rally at City Hall Plaza in Dallas at 4 PM. Come join myself, Congregation Ahavath Sholom and the entire Jewish Community, along with all friends and supporters of Israel in showing your support for Israel’s right to defend herself, and for the eradication of Hamas and all terrorist organizations from the Middle East. Am Yisrael Chai! The Nation of Israel Lives!
