Are you better than Noah or Moses? One of the most dangerous - TopicsExpress

Are you better than Noah or Moses? One of the most dangerous doctrines (in my humble opinion) that has ever found its way into Christianity is that we as believers will not have to endure hardship prior to the return of our Messiah. Noah was deemed righteous by the Almighty and yet he had to go through the flood. Moses and the children of Israel were delivered from Egypt only after they had witnessed and experienced the plagues poured out on Pharaoh and the Egyptians. The idea that we are somehow better than the heroes of the Old Testament is high-minded and completely lacks the spirit if humility that is supposed to accompany our conversion. If we rightly divide the word of Truth, which is the Bible, we will find that we arent of higher stature than the pillars of faith found throughout scripture. There is no free pass for trials and tribulation. In fact, if we will closely examine the story of the Exodus we will find that there are times when the God of all Creation allowed the children of Israel to go without food or water to test them and to see if they would love Him, trust Him, and continue to follow Him. If we have the mindset that we deserve to be raptured before anything bad happens and even begin to manipulate the scriptures to support that... its no wonder that there will be a great falling away before His return... truth doesnt make us feel warm and fuzzy... it makes us change. Daniel 12 1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. 2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Daniel 12 tells us the same thing that Yeshua, His disciples, and all of scripture does... it will get darkest just before dawn. Shalom and Blessings
