Are you focusing on the right numbers in your business? Annual profit, profit margin per product or service and the size of your mailing list are numbers you need to know and grow. Be careful with numbers like sales turnover, Facebook fans and Twitter followers - they can be just vanity numbers. Sales turnover with hardly any profit is meaningless Facebook fans with hardly any sales or people joining your mailing list are meaningless. The same with Twitter followers. Focus on the numbers that count and that really make a difference in your business. You dont have to be good with figures, you just need to know how much money you are making each time you sell something, once the costs of making it have been subtracted. If youre not focusing on the right numbers there is every chance youre running an expensive hobby instead of a business, and that would be a shame.
