Are you having mobility and squat-strength issues, which negatively affect your daily workouts? Announcing the First ever Crossfit Apex 30-day Squat Challenge. We, here at Crossfit Apex, know that imitation is the highest form of flattery and would like to mimic movement guru Ido Portals 30/30 squat challenge with a 30-day squat challenge of our own. Starting next Sunday, May 4th, we invite all Apex members to join our Crossfit Apex 30-Day Squat Challenge and spend a cumulative 30 minutes in the bottom of an air squat each day. Squatting is a fundamental human movement pattern that involves nearly every muscle in the body. Full squats can help counteract many of the chronic musculo-skeletal problems we face today, such as weak glutes, hunched back, weak torso, etc. In the next few days we will set up a private Facebook group where program participants will be encouraged to communicate. There will be periodic releases of squat related articles and information along the way and we should all take the time to report our progress through pictures and daily posts. It would also be beneficial for all program participants to post a pre-challenge picture of their squat as well as PRs for 1 rep max Front Squat, 1 rep max Back Squat and max time in a full-depth squat hold. These numbers and visual aids will give us a baseline to measure improvement throughout the course of the program. Crossfit is supposed to be quantifiable after all, so lets see if we can all make change in our mobility/squat strength and gain some valuable data in the process. So whos up for the challenge?
