Are you looking at starting a new cafe, restaurant or pub? We have just received this. Hello The Business Hub, I am working on a brand new exciting BBC2 series and we are looking for people that are about to open their first restaurant, bar, cafe, pub or any kind of eatery in Exmouth / Devon. It has to be in a building setting with a minimum of 12 sit down covers where the business owner(s) offer some sort of table service. The programme: The Restaurateur is a new television series seeks to help new start-ups get underway with their proposed restaurant business. It is difficult to open a restaurant at the best of times, let alone during a recession but our presenter - Russell Norman has defied the odds and successfully opened 5 restaurants in the last 3 years. He believes that the early stages of the business are crucial and wants to work with 6 entrepreneurs as they set out on their first restaurant venture. With his advice, we seek to follow the journey of the new starters as they renovate, hire staff through to creating the menu, opening night and beyond. Ideally, we are looking for people who are in the early stages of the process but who have firm ideas and ambitions of what they’d like to achieve. We want our presenter to work with people who have courage in their convictions and will share with us the advantages and pitfalls of becoming an independent restaurateur for the first time. Logistically, filming will be spread out over a matter of months (depending on timeframe for each project) and would take place at key stages (e.g. creating menu, designing, hiring staff, finishing touches, opening night and a month or so down the line). Ideally, the new restaurants would be opening between July & September allowing time at the other side for us to effectively chart the (hopeful!) initial success of each business. We are keen to talk to restaurant owners who are not yet open for business and in the process of renovating, building or doing up their premises.
