Are you looking for a way to help Eureka? There are 2 community service projects going on right now that need your help. The first one kicks off this weekend July 20th & 21st at the Eureka Springs. They are looking for volunteers and equipment. For more information about that project visit eurekaproject.org/ or find them on Facebook at The Eureka Project. The 2nd project is the Lions Park Project. Birkholz Construction has completed approximately 50% of the concrete work on the ½ mile walking trail at Lions Park. Replacing the soil along the trail was not part of the installation contract, thus the park improvement committee is now making plans for this finish work. August 10th has been set as Trail Work Day and an effort is being made to recruit community volunteers to assist in this phase of the project. When initial plans to make improvements at the park were made, a community survey was completed and many responding, indicated a willingness to volunteer time to help with construction effort. It is hoped those and others will be willing to help. Equipment will move soil to the trail and volunteers are needed to level the soil. If volunteers have steel rakes they are encouraged to bring them. Work will began a 7 AM and finish at noon. A second work day will be planned for September 7th. Anyone wishing to be part of the Lions Park improvement effort is asked to contact any Lions Club member or call 583-6861. Lunch will be provided for all participants.
