The details: SLISConnect is a joint student/alumni organization formed in 2011 from the merger of the Alumni Association and LISSTEN (Library and Information Science Students To Encourage Networking). The group promotes stronger ties between alumni and students, bringing us together for networking, social, and professional events. As the academic year ends, election season begins! SLISConnect is holding elections for officer positions for the upcoming terms. Nominate yourself or another qualified candidate using the SLISConnect Officer Nomination Form at tinyurl/q3dvx9w. Submit your nominations by Saturday, June 7. Voting will take place June 9-15, and winning candidates will be announced the following week. We are accepting nominations for the following positions: *Note: 1) It is assumed that all officers will attend regularly scheduled monthly Board meetings and take on special assignments as required. Online meetings are scheduled during a time that is convenient for the most number of board members, which often correlates to the time zone of San Jose State (PST). No one in other time zones is excluded from serving on the board but all efforts to attend meetings is expected. Weve had members from as far as London and Toronto involved in SLISConnect. 2) All applicants should have familiarity and comfort using collaboration tools such as Collaborate, Google Docs, and email. 3) As SLISConnect is a combined student and alumni group, we strive to balance the officer positions between students and alumni. Please take note if a certain position is labeled for student or alumni. If not specified, it is open to either.
