Are you more concerned with the size of your ministry, or with the heart and faithfulness of it? It can be easy in the day of small things to desire God to grow it, in some way thinking this validates ones ministry. Yet it does not, your faithfulness to the Lord and to fulfill it, this validates the call and then as we are trustworthy in the day of small things. He will add as He wills, confirming it. As that which is of Him shall always bear fruit, some will bear 30, some 60, some 90 fold, but no matter the amount there will be fruit. To desire a ministry or response to a ministry to grow for the equipping of the Body, the advancement of the Kingdom of God and for God to be glorified is a noble desire. But if its motivation is anything else, humbling ones self and seeking to be faithful to Him, even with little, even in the day of small things, is the only place true ministry will begins. No matter the size of what has thus far been entrusted to you or I. Lets begin there, for a lifetime of ministry, is made up of daily faithfulness in small things. He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. (Luke 16:10) And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. (Acts 2:42-47) Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. (1 Corinthians 4:2) For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ. (2 Corinthians 2:17) But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every mans conscience in the sight of God. (2 Corinthians 4:2) As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 4:10-11) You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. (2 Timothy 2:1-2)
