Are you struggling to teach writing, spelling or vocabulary? Is your learner a reluctant or nonconfident writer? Does your learner need an organic method that uses learners’ own words to teach language arts skills? Does your learner require social-emotional support in the classroom? Does your learner work best in small groups? If you answered yes to any of these questions then I have the group for you! Pen Club is looking for just 1 or 2 more learners to round out our group. Our maximum class size is 6 learners. Our target age range is approximately 9 to 13 years old. Currently we are using the Language Experience Approach combined with Charlotte Mason style language arts as the basis for our learning. This means that traditional skills are taught via the learners interests and own words rather than through workbooks or boring drills. This is the last term this particular class will be offered for this age range. *We meet at the Hillsboro Main Library, Weds. 2:30 to 4:30, April 9 to June 18th *Enrollment period is April 3rd -15th. Actual attendance may begin any Thursday in April. Contact Gina at EducationalLife1@gmail for information or to sign up. Using this email address is the only way to ensure I see your enrollment request! *When emailing for enrollment be sure to include your name, your child’s name and your child’s age or academic level (whichever is more relevant for your child). *Classes are taught by a professional educator with over 20 years of teaching experience and over 10 years homeschooling experience. Families do pay tuition and a small materials fee. *Emphasis is placed on social-emotional support, executive functioning skills and learner independence in addition to academic skills. *Homework is individualized to meet learners’ and families’ needs.
