Are you taking proper care of your cutting boards? Are you using them correctly for each job? Plastic should be used for all raw chicken, fish and meats. Wash them with HOT soapy water and air dry. Every couple months you can spray them with a solution of one part bleach to 5 parts water. Use a sponge to wash and rinse in HOT water. Wooden boards should be used to carve cooked chicken, fish and meats. Wash with HOT soapy water. Never use bleach on wood. It is a porous material and will soak up the bleach. Marble slabs are best used for baking. Wash them with HOT soapy water and never use bleach on these either. Allow all your boards to air dry and store upright, not flat! Now, go out and get yourself some good cutting boards!
