Are you tired of backsliding? By: Rebekah Lee Only a Christian can backslide, not an unsaved person. Usually a Christian who loved the Lord, was on fire for God will backslide from some unimaginable sin, being a lukewarm saint or cold heart...Many examples in the bible of losing joy, taking their eyes off Jesus, being tempted, holding a grudge, so many little things can cause you to stumble...in fact every Christian sins. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” 1 John 1:8 Did you know that the very thought of sin is sin? The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorners an abomination to men. Proverbs 24:9 Dont be a fool! Each time we give into it we are saying there is no God! REPENT of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. Acts 8:22 The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin. Romans 14:22-23 Gods grace is there for the Christian, We are a frail human being. Test yourself daily, dont let anything creep in to take away what God has for your life... Every Wise Woman Builds Her House Even in laughter the heart may be in pain, And the end of joy may be grief. The backslider in heart will have his fill of his own ways, But a good man will be satisfied with his. The naive believes everything, But the sensible man considers his steps. Proverbs 14:13-15 Backsliding takes place in the heart! Check yourself, examine yourself...you may have drifted. Such as Samson did.” And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him”. Judges 16:20 Most Christians have backslidden before, and believe me it is like fighting through a brick wall to get to God if you do it on your own strength...yet if you get alone with God and surrender he can heal you of your backsliding. It took months for me to get back in the presence of God” yet I persevered... Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. Hosea 10:12 “ Serving God is not a game, especially in this hour. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea. Isaiah 48:18 Another thing about backsliding is you never pickup were you left off. Everything changes. You cant just come back and expect it all to be the same, saints have grown to another level and you fell behind...look at Esau” that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal. For you know that even afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears. Hebrews 12:17 we are called to live in holiness... For God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification. So, he who rejects this is not rejecting man but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you.…1 Thessalonians 4:7 Are you a backslider?
